Hear Me Say This is an innovative new service that lets you send a message to Congress using your own voice.

We let you use an ordinary telephone to harness the power of Twitter to communicate with the people that represent you in both the U.S. House and Senate.

How does it work?

In order to use this service, you will need the following four things:

  • A telephone - You can use a sophisticated cell phone like an iPhone or G1 phone, or an ordinary home or office phone.
  • A Twitter account- If you don’t already have one, get one here.
  • An invitation code - Only for a short period, while we work through our private beta.
  • A message that you want to send to your representatives in Congress.

If you’ve got these things, your can register for Hear Me Say This.

Once you’re registered, it’s as simple as making a phone call:

  • Call the Hear Me Say This public access number - we’ll send this number to you when you register.
  • Record a message to the people that represent your zip code in Congress. You can record a message up to 60 seconds long. You may record as many messages as you like.
  • Check your Twitter account in a few minutes. You’ll receive a copy of your recording as a Twitter @reply. If you’re following Hear Me Say This on Twitter, this reply will show up in your public timeline.

Harness the Power of Twitter

Recording your message in your voice will send a powerful message to the people that represent you in Congress.

Because we harness the power of Twitter to send your recording, you can share it with as many people as you like. Retweet your message to your family and friends. Add it to your Facebook profile. Post it on your blog. Share it with others who believe in your message.

Because we send your recording as a Twitter @reply, Members of Congress representing your zip code that use Twitter will receive your message as well - so they can listen to your message as you’ve recorded it.

Even members that are not currently using Twitter can find your message. If one or more of your Members of Congress is not yet using Twitter, we’ll insert an easy to find #hashtag into the Twitter message we send with their office and district number.

This makes it easy to use Twitter’s powerful search feature to find messages that have been sent to your representatives in Congress.

There’s never been a better way to get your message, in your voice, directly to the people that represent you in Congress.
